Project Requirement:
Our client, a leading construction and real-estate company, wanted an innovative solution to showcase their upcoming residential projects. Traditional 2D floor plans were no longer sufficient to communicate spatial understanding and room layouts to potential buyers.
Therefore, the requirement was to create a high-quality mobile application as part of Augmented Reality applications in construction that could:
- Convert 2D architectural floor plans into interactive 3D models
- Enable customers to view homes in real-world scale through mobile AR
- Allow free movement around the AR space to visualize the layout
- Improve customer decision-making and reduce showroom dependency
- Enhance sales presentations and increase customer engagement
The client needed a solution that would work in home environments, onsite, or in showroom presentations.
Project Planning:
The planning phase began with discussions with the client to understand:
- Types of properties (apartments, villas, commercial spaces)
- Level of detail required for 3D modeling
- User journey from scanning to exploring
- Platform choice (Android and iOS)
- Integration possibilities with their website and CRM
We structured the project into stages:

The floor plans provided by the client were converted into accurate digital 3D layouts. These models maintained the correct dimensions, room placements, wall heights, interior divisions, and furniture arrangements.

- AR Integration
We used cutting-edge AR frameworks to enable real-time placement and scaling of models in physical space. Users could:

Different rooms and lighting conditions affected AR surface scanning. We implemented adaptive detection and guidance prompts to assist users.
- Device Compatibility
Not all customer devices had the same hardware capability. Optimized assets, LOD techniques, and real-time scaling features helped ensure broad compatibility.
- Maintaining Real-World Scale
Accurate measurement was crucial to avoid misleading impressions. We integrated measurement calibration to maintain the true scale of the architectural layout.
These challenges helped refine the solution into a robust product suitable for commercial deployment.
